History
Reckon Limited was founded in 1987. During the first five years of operation, Reckon focused on developing an effective infrastructure and national distribution channel. In 1993, Reckon commenced the republishing and distribution of "Quicken" software products under a licensing agreement with the US company Intuit.
The group has grown rapidly in recent years and in 1997 it entered into long term license agreements with Intuit pertaining to both online and software publishing rights. In late 1998, Reckon launched its Quicken Online business as well as it's software operations in Singapore and New Zealand.
Reckon was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 19 July 1999.
In 2000, Australian businesses faced a major administrative challenge with the introduction of a Goods and Services Tax. With Quicken there to help them along, hundreds of thousands of businesses across Australia, transitioned smoothly to the new system.
Quicken continues to expand with the aim of helping business owners take control of their business processes and make the most of the business opportunities presented to them.. At the same time Quicken continues to develop effective and easy ways to keep on top of their personal finances and investments.
Today Quicken products are used by more than 17 million people worldwide to manage their business and personal finances.
